Music For Running

Music For Running

Whether running short distances or long marathons, music always inspires us and gives us a much needed boost. Running to music is now becoming more and more popular thanks to Ipods, MP3 players and walkmans, which are now light and compact for runners to carry, so I have tried to put together a few CDs which I have picked out as best running music and hope you like the songs half as much as I do!

101 Running Songs - 101 great tracks including songs such as Don’t stop me now by Queen, One way or another by Blondie, Footloose by Kenny Loggins, Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and loads more. A great running music CD with songs to motivate runners of all ages. Helps with motivation and concentration - more info

Running Trax - Running with music often helps with distance running and training and this CD is excellent for this. With tracks such as Call on me by Eric Prydz, Put your hands up for Detroit by Fedde Le Grand and Encore une fois by Sash, this CD is definitely one to get you up and running- one of my favourites - more info

101 Housework songs - Ok ok not strictly under the run with music title but the songs are real toe tappers and it’s a CD I would definitely play when out for a run. I especially love the tracks I love to boogie by T Rex, Its raining men by the Weather Girls and of course Cant touch this by M C Hammer- a great mix of songs from the 60s through to the noughties- a real must have - more info

Peters Friends - I think the choice of music on this CD is amazing and I would recommend this CD as one for marathon running/training music as the tempos and rhythms change quite nicely which would suit a long, interchanging course. Playlist includes Everybody wants to rule the world by Tears for Fears, Girls just wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper and You’re my best friend by Queen- quality music - more info
